1. Main window

The main window consists of the toolbar, tabs, the list of applications and the search panel.

Toolbar buttons:

‘Offline version’ – create the offline version of Speed Install to be run on computers without Internet access.

‘Settings’ – open the Speed Install settings

‘Web’ – open the Internet links (website, forum, help, about)

‘Unselect all’ – clear the selection of applications in categories

‘Save’ – save the selected list if the ‘Lists’ tab is active. Save the applications selected in categories to a new list if the ‘Category’ tab is active.

‘Remove’ – delete the selected list. The button is available when the ‘Lists’ tab is active

‘Up’ – move the application up in the list. The button is available when the ‘Lists’ tab is active

‘Down’ – move the application down in the list. The button is available when the ‘Lists’ tab is active

‘Install’ – install the applications. If the ‘Lists’ tab is active, it installs the applications from the selected list. If the ‘Categories’ tab is active, it installs the applications from the ‘Current selection’ list

Attention!

All applications selected in categories are included in the ‘Current selection’ list.

2. Search

The search panel is in the upper right corner of the main window. To find an application, just enter its name and click the ‘Find’ button. If the application exists, it will be shown in its category on the screen. Just select it in the list and click the ‘Install’ button or right-click the application and select the ‘Install’ item.

3. Settings

To change the Speed Install settings, click the ‘Settings’ button on the toolbar.

You can change the language of the Speed Install interface and the software installation language. If you need only to download the latest versions of programs, just clear the ‘Install applications after downloading’ checkbox. Also Speed Install may remove folders and shortcuts in the 'Start' menu, remove shortcuts from desktop, remove shortcuts from 'Quick launch' toolbar after installation an application.

If you use a proxy server to connect to the Internet, you can specify the corresponding settings.

4. Working with lists.

To create a list, switch to the ‘Categories’ tab, select the necessary applications and click the ‘Save’ button. After that enter the name of the list and click the ‘OK’ button.

To delete a list, switch to the ‘Lists’ tab, select the necessary list and click the ‘Remove’ button.

To edit a list, switch to the ‘Lists’ tab, select the necessary list, clear the selection of the programs you do not need and click the ‘Save’ button.

To add an application to an existing list, switch to the ‘Categories’ tab, right-click the application and select the ‘Add to list…’ from the popup menu.

5. Installation report.

The ‘Report’ tab contains the results of downloading and installing programs.

If you right-click an item in the report list, you will see a context menu containing the following items:

‘Clear’ – remove all items from the report
‘Skip’ – if there are problems with downloading or installing some program, you can skip this application by selecting this item
‘View error’ – this item becomes available when the program was downloaded or installed with an error.
